Rebuilt in the 2000’s, this shelter is a short walk from the summit of Glastenbury Mountain. When in operation, the beacon on top of Mount Greylock, Massachusetts can be seen from here.

this is the newest shelter on Long Trail
which means there are NO RODENTS
even in middle of summer the weather is 10degrees cooler than bennington or rutland
the outhouse is well-maintained
nearby spring has delightfully clear mineral water
great views from Glastonbury FireTower south to GreyLock..north to Stratton
exactly halfway between Mt Stratton and Rt9 (12 miles either way)
