The Appalachian Trail is where it all started for me… and for you too, maybe.
It is classic. Epic. The long green tunnel. It changes lives. It changed mine.
I started in April 2001 from Springer Mountain, Georgia, when I was 20 years old. I left the trail in Vermont in September 2001 after 9/11. There would have been too much snow in Maine by the time I got there anyway.
In 2002 I returned to Vermont, and finished the hike to Mount Katahdin, Maine. I hiked The Appalachian Trail. It still feels good to say that. It was tough – still the most difficult thing I’ve accomplished.
