Hiking to Angels Landing – Zion National Park

The summit, where the angels go to rest. :-)

The term was coined in 1916, when an explorer looked up at the narrow fin of rock and said “only an angel could land on it.”

Today it seems that quite a few chipmunks have landed on it, begging for snacks from hikers and cleaning up their crumbs.

As you can judge from these photos, I was here very late in the evening. This afforded me the opportunity to have the peak all to myself, a place that is typically crowded with hikers.
