The South Rim of the Grand Canyon received its first snow of the season during the first week of December 2009. This collection of photos is from the days after the storm – from the Rim Trail east of the village, and from the village itself.

Lookout Studio

This is the outdoor patio at the El Tovar Hotel, where visitors can enjoy cocktails and appetizers with a view of the canyon… except when the patio is closed in winter!

Mather Ampitheater – this is where the nightly ranger programs are held in the summertime, often with a cozy outdoor campfire.
