The Peek-A-Boo loop hike is a 5.5 mile round trip in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, that wanders among the hoodoos throughout the main amphitheater.
On August 11, I had plans with James and our new friend Mike to take a trip up to see the Vermillion Cliffs, north of the Grand Canyon. It was to be James’ final trip in the southwest before she went home to Ohio. On the way there, somewhere near Page, Arizona, we decided to just keep on going all the way to Bryce.
I quickly fell asleep in the car when we left the Grand Canyon (It was a tiring week at work). I awoke later in the evening to the sound of a Neil Young track from the After the Goldrush album playing on the radio, less than an hour before sunset as low light shone on the cliffs to the east… what a great way to wake up and remember where I am.
Later we stopped among some interesting rock formations, and an old structure.
…and some Utah beer to finish off the night. Ah, Utah…
These are the first photos I took in Bryce Canyon, at Bryce Point – the trailhead for the Peek-A-Boo loop.
